What is Proscar (Finasteride 5 mg)?

Generic Proscar (Finasteride 5 mg) medicine is an androgen hormone inhibitor used for the benign prostatic hyperplasia therapy agent; hair growth stimulant, alopecia androgenetica (systemic) Treatment in men also used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) which is swelling of the prostate.
Finasteride in generic Proscar (5 mg) medicine works by lowering the amount of a hormone in your body called dihydrotestosterone or DHT. By reducing this hormone level in your body may help to reduce the swelling of the prostate and reduce the symptoms of BPH. This medicine may also be used in combination with another medicine to reduce the progression of symptoms of BPH over time.
