How to Prevent Hair Loss When Dieting28-11-2009 |
There are many reasons for hair loss. But dieting can majorly cause hairloss due to lack of nutrition: Extreme dieting can cause an imbalance in the system and the hair fall could be an indication that the body is getting weak. Sometimes it's the habits that we form that can cause us to actually start to lose our hair. Not many people are aware of the dangers of those extreme or sometimes called, fad diets. They are appealing for those looking to lose weight, but there are some things you need to be aware of.
You see while losing weight is certainly a good thing since obesity can lead to a ton of health problems, many of these "overnight" weight loss diets rob your body of nutrients that you need in order to produce hair. Whenever there is a major life change or significant event people tend to stop eating healthy. Some people stop eating altogether. Other people start eating more foods that are not good for them. Either way, the proper eating habbits of a healthy person goes out the window when one is under stress.
One of the results of a poor diet is that a person will begin to experience hair loss. This will start with the hair getting dull and thin. So most people will change shampoos a few times because they are sure that it is the shampoo that is causing the problem. When the hair starts coming out in the brush in gobs, then we know there is a more serious problem. That is when it is time to review what changes we have made that would cause the hair follicles to start malfunctioning. Eating a proper eating habit provides the hair follicles with much needed nutrients and vitamins to support healthy hair. A poor eating habit and hair loss go hand in hand. It is important that even when a person is in a stressful situation that they remember to eat properly to maintain healthy bodies and healthy hair.
Eating one cupcake or Twinkie does not cause the hair follicles to begin to die. It is the habit that one develops of eating poorly over a period of days or weeks that begin to adversely affect the hair. This change is usually not noticeable at first. Hair will become dull and less full but that can be attributed to the weather. It is usually not until the thinning becomes really visible that a person will think about poor diet and hair loss. But when the damage is noticeable it has been going on awhile and it is important to take immediate steps to begin to repair the hair follicles.
Some people immediately begin to try different treatments for thinning hair before they address the most obvious cause. The follicles of the hair are kept healthy by nutrients and vitamins that are fed to it constantly. These nutrients are part of a healthy eating habbits and the hair reflects the health of an individual. By changing one's diet and including the foods that provide essential vitamins and minerals to the hair follicles one will begin to see almost immediately that the hair will feel differently. Hair will begin to grow and look healthier. A good eating habbits is an essential part of getting, keeping, and maintaining healthy hair.
